ARTIST STATEMENT:

Mae Shapiro is printmaker based in New York. Uninterested in her art being hung on a wall, Mae uses print to facilitate social interactions and build community. Her work plays with the fictions we construe with reality, as she creates her own fictions and imbues them with the real.
